Dosage and Administration Overview
- Bebtelovimab has not been approved, but has been authorized for emergency use by the FDA under an EUA, for the treatment of mild-to-moderate COVID-19 in adults and pediatric patients (12 years of age and older weighing at least 40 kg) who are at high risk for progression to severe COVID-19, including hospitalization or death and for whom alternative COVID-19 treatment options approved or authorized by FDA are not accessible or clinically appropriate.
- The emergency use of bebtelovimab is only authorized for the duration of the declaration that circumstances exist justifying the authorization of the emergency use of drugs and biological products during the COVID-19 pandemic under Section 564(b)(1) of the Act, 21 U.S.C. § 360bbb-3(b)(1), unless the declaration is terminated or authorization is revoked sooner.
The dosage in adults (18 years and older) and pediatric patients (≥12 years of age and weighing at least 40 kg) is bebtelovimab 175 mg.
Bebtelovimab should be administered as soon as possible after positive results of direct SARS-CoV-2 viral testing and within 7 days of symptom onset.
Under this EUA, bebtelovimab must be administered as a single intravenous injection over at least 30 seconds.
Clinically monitor patients during administration and observe patients for at least 1 hour after injection is complete.
This product is preservative-free and therefore, should be administered immediately.
If immediate administration is not possible, store the syringe for up to 24 hours at refrigerated temperature (2°C to 8°C [36°F to 46°F]) and up to 7 hours at room temperature (20°C to 25°C [68°F to 77°F]). If refrigerated, allow the prepared syringe to equilibrate to room temperature for approximately 20 minutes prior to administration.
